Our experienced professionals examine, investigate, research and review. We have an inorganic chemistry laboratory equipped with the latest technology, a binder and mortar testing laboratory, as well as a testing laboratory for aggregates and construction material mixtures:

The Institute for Lime and Mortar Research e. V. is a nationally recognised, neutral and objective independent testing Institute.

IKM’s roles are set out in its articles of association:
  • To monitor the products of member companies
  • To inspect lime, lime products and aggregates
  • To carry out application-oriented research

Testing and Inspection:
We test building materials, binding agents, lime for environmental protection, lime for drinking water purification, mortar, aggregates, building material mixtures and soils for their physical, chemical and environmental properties. We do so accurately, scientifically, meticulously in accordance with national and international standards, national testing specifications and European approvals, as well as in accordance with specific testing methods for manufacturers and consumers.

Our mission is to solve your problem. We perform inspections for clients from various sectors of the economy: companies in the chemical industry, the construction materials and mortar industries, for power stations, sugar refineries and local authorities. We also work with courts, surveyors, engineering companies and companies in the soil and stone industry. We examine sophisticated and complex problems. We focus on chemical and physical testing methods. This is our asset. In addition to this, we can add our experience in test preparation and decomposition technology.
